Methamphetamine kept for smuggling to other countries seized, 3 held
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three men and seized 500 grams of methamphetamine, on Friday night.

Based on a specific information, Mohammed Farith (30), Ziaul Haque (31) and Shivakumar (36) were arrested around 11 pm from their residence at Seven Wells on Friday, said an officer from the bureau.
“The banned psychotropic drugs were sealed inside the items used at massage parlours. Preliminary investigations revealed that the contraband was about to be smuggled to countries such as Australia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka,” said the officers.
Methamphetamine is a potent central nervous system stimulant and appetite suppressor that is mainly abused as a recreational drug.
Drugs worth about Rs 2.5 cr seized at Tiruchy
The NCB officers conducted a surprise inspection at Tiruchy Airport (TIA) on Saturday and caught a Malaysian passenger with 10kg of Methaqualone worth Rs 2.5 crores. The passenger was identified as Arokiyaswamy (53) of Mannargudi. He was planning to smuggle the drug to Kuala Lumpur in an Air Asia flight. Sources said that NCB has started a detailed investigation about the accused.
