Corpn sticks poll awareness labels on Aavin products

In a move to create awareness on voting and to attain 100 per cent polling during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Greater Chennai Corporation has started sticking election awareness stickers on Aavin products.

“Aavin milk and their products reach almost every household in the city. So we have been sticking the labels imploring the voters to cast their vote. We also have asked the salesperson in the Aavin outlets to stick stickers on new stock arriving every day,” a Chennai Corporation official said.


On Wednesday, the officials visited an Aavin outlet in Adyar to stick the awareness labels. The official added that the civic body is undertaking the drive under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP) activity.


“We have been conducting awareness campaigns in schools and colleges to implore the students and their parents. Recently we conducted awareness two-wheeler rallies in many parts of the city.”


On March 23, Corporation Commissioner and district election officer paraglided to create awareness among the first-time voters.
