The deceased, S Malar Mary, came to India a week ago, after her boyfriend Avinash (23) expressed his inability to travel to Lanka. She reached Tamil Nadu and Avinash had arranged a stay for her in a lodge in Singaperumal Koil. The two had visited Chennai and other places after which she was supposed to return to her country on Tuesday night.
During an inquiry, Avinash said that she refused to travel back to her country saying that she wants to stay with him. He had advised her to go back and on Wednesday, he went to work leaving her behind. Following this, she committed suicide. It looks like she was dejected because he insisted that she had to go back, the police added. In the evening, the guest house staff found that Malar Mary has not come out of the room till evening and when they checked, they found her dead in the room. “We have informed her family about her death. The body has been shifted Chengalpattu GH for autopsy. We are questioning Avinash to know if there any major quarrel between the two,” the police said.
