PG medical counselling to start from today
The counselling for postgraduate degree and diploma courses for the seats in government medical colleges, government seats in self-financing medical colleges and Rajah Muthiah Medical College for the coming academic session will be held from April 1 to April 4.

According to the schedule released by Additional Director of Medical Education, general category candidates who secured ranks from 1 to 468 should appear before the Selection Committee of the Directorate of Medical Education on April 1, while those ranking till 1,391 should appear on April 2.
For those who secured ranks till 2,430, the counselling date is April 3, while it is April 4 for those ranked till 2,756. The counselling will be held at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital at Omandurar Estate.
This year, 11,121 students out of 17,067 candidates who appeared for PG NEET cleared the exam. The number of PG medical seats was increased to 1,758 this year after converting 384 out of 396 diploma course seats into degree seats. The counselling for the orthopaedically disabled candidates who were called for medical examination will be held on April 1 from 9 am, while those with community ranks will be on April 4. The classes would commence on May 1.
