It has late political satirist Cho Ramaswamy as one of the characters. The story has Cho, now in heaven, being worried about the upcoming elections and devises a plan to send Sultan Muhammad bin Thuglak back to identify 40 honest people to contest the polls from Tamil Nadu. After failing to convince both ruling and opposition parties, he kidnaps majority of MLAs, locks them in a resort and becomes the CM.
When contacted, Varadharajan said he was told that the police visited and inquired about the permission to stage the play. “We are not sure why they turned up on Sunday. But there was no obstruction from their end,” he said. Police officials were not available to comment on why police personnel were sent.
