Heatwave: Avoid going out from 11 am to 4 pm

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has issued a heatwave warning for the next two days on Tuesday, advising the public to not expose themselves to the direct sunlight from 11 am to 4 pm to avoid sunstroke.

Other parts of Tamil Nadu also recorded high temperatures with Tiruttani recording a highest of 44.3 degrees Celsius, while Tiruchy and Vellore recorded 42.0 degrees Celsius and 41.7 degree Celsius respectively. Karur, Palayamkottai, Madurai and Thanjavur also crossed 40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy in the city for the next 48 hours, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius respectively, said a statement from RMC. However, several parts of Tamil Nadu including Tiruppur, Theni, Namakkal, Madurai and Dindigul received light to moderate rain.
