The Royapettah all women police station has registered a case based on a Court direction. The actor, a resident of Gopalapuram, had initially accused Swamy in a live Facebook video.

Gayatri, in the video which went viral in September last year, narrated the nightmare she went through and alleged that Swamy targeted her on the pretext of helping her to solve an issue with her son’s passport after the death of her husband.

In the FIR dated May 27, the police said that the incident occurred on the evening of June 30, 2018, at her residence when he went there to discuss regarding her son’s passport issue. “He sat near me and put his hand around my shoulders and chest. I screamed due to fright and my maid and daughter came running hearing my cries. I saw him as a father figure,” she said.

In her social media post, she went on to claim that the harassment continued via phone and internet and that the journalist started sending her derogatory messages via WhatsApp, threatening to defame her. Gayatri also said that the journalist spread false stories that she killed her husband who died of a heart attack.

The actor had alleged that the journalist has over the course of years harassed many women and showed them pictures of him with top leaders and ministers to intimidate them by his stature.
