Trio held for snatching phone from pedestrian

The Teynampet police have arrested three persons after they allegedly tried to snatch a mobile phone from a pedestrian. The incident happened on Saturday night when the victim, V Saravanan (45) of Teynampet who works a sales representative at a private firm, was walking on TTK Road.

Around 10.30 pm, a bike-borne trio intercepted him near a petrol bunk and tried to snatch his mobile phone. However, Saravanan pulled their bike and the trio lost balance and fell on the road. While the three men fled the spot leaving the bike and mobile phone, Saravanan alerted the police control room. 

Based on his complaint, the Teynampet police launched a hunt for the suspects with the help of CCTV footage retrieved from the locality and arrested them. They were identified as N Kishore (22) of Mylapore, T Palani (22) of KK Nagar and A Manikandan (24) of Teyampet. The police said that all three have robbery cases pending against them.
