Infant found abandoned in front of church
A three-month-old boy was found abandoned in front of a church at Tiruporur and has been admitted to an orphanage in Chengalpattu.

According to the police, the church employees saw the child, wrapped in a towel, near church entrance. On information, the police team from Kelambakkam police station visited the church located on Kovalam Road. The police also alerted the Kancheepuram child welfare committee (CWC), who sent a team of volunteers to the spot. The CWC officials rushed to the spot, received the child from the church staff and admitted him to a government hospital in Chengalpattu for further care. The doctors, after initial screening, handed over the baby to the CWC volunteers, who in turn admitted the child to the orphanage at Chengalpattu. The police collected CCTV camera footages from nearby residences and shops and are trying to find out the identity of people who abandoned the child.
