The European Union has collaborated with Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. to pilot electric auto-rickshaws as Metro Rail Feeder Service. Tomasz Kozlowski also stressed on the need to reduce air pollution and raising awareness on switching to electric public transportation facilities.

“In India, rickshaws are one of the most used transportation means, so we targeted electric rickshaws. There are issues initially as we shift to electric engine and infrastructure. But, it will help to reduce the dependence on non-renewable resources and create cleaner cities,” added Tomasz Kozlowski.

“We support and fund projects to facilitate offshore wind electric power plants in Tamil Nadu as it has the best capacity and resources to develop wind power plants. Water scarcity is an issue across the world, and we will initiate partnership on the concepts to save water.
