He spoke to the media while being taken to the hospital for check-up.

Mugilan was produced before a magistrate on Sunday night and was admitted to Stanley Medical College Hospital for a day for check-up. He would be taken to Karur after being discharged from hospital, said sources.

After going missing in mid-February, he was found in Tirupati on Saturday and the CB-CID arrested him based on a complaint from a woman activist from Kuzhithalai in Karur.

According to a press release from CB-CID, an unidentified man jumped in front of Mannargudi Express at Tirupati station around 10.30 am on July 6, raising slogans against Central and State governments.

When the RPF personnel took him to the police station, he initially refused to reveal hisidentity.

Mugilan and his wife claimed that he was kidnapped, and hinted that Sterlite Copper could have been behind it. During questioning, Mugilan told CB-CID officers that he was abducted by a gang which took him to various locations.

He alleged being injected with medicines to make him mentally unstable, but has not given any details about his abductors.

However, the police suspect that he is lying as there were no torture marks on his body. It looks like he was bitten by a dog when he was sleeping on a railway platform as he roamed around various places, they added.
