Auto driver murdered in drunken brawl

The deceased was identified as Siva from Karasangal in Kancheepuram. The police said Siva came to attend the funeral of Pushparaj (19) of Karasangal, who was murdered by two men in a drunken brawl on Sunday night.

The police said on Wednesday Pushparaj’s family and friends were making arrangements for the final rites. Suddenly, a quarrel broke out between a group of people and Pushraj’s family and friends. The police said the group attacked Siva, Ezhumalai, Rajesh, and Pushparaj’s father Madan (50) with knives. Soon, all the four were rushed to a private hospital nearby where Siva declared dead on arrival. The Manimangalam police team arrived at the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital.

The police have registered a case and searching for the murderers. This is the second murder in the last three days in the locality.
