Woman relieved of chain, hunt on for snatcher
A woman pedestrian was relieved of her one-sovereign chain by an unidentified person on Tuesday night.

The incident took place when the victim, S Latha, who runs a tailor shop on Lakshmanasamy Salai was on her way back home around 9.30 pm. According to the police, a man, who was walking behind her, suddenly snatched her chain and fled the spot. Latha shouted for help but in vain. Based on her complaint, K K Nagar police have launched a hunt for the suspects.
In another incident, the Koyambedu police arrested a bike-borne duo when they tried to flee after robbing a pedestrian at Nerkundram. The stolen phone and the bike were recovered from the duo identified as Prakash and Vigneshwaran of Tirumangalam. The police said that they attacked Syleshwaran (70) of Nerkundram on Poonamallee High Road on Tuesday night when he was on his way to a petrol bunk, where he is working. Passers-by, who noticed the incident, alerted the police control room with the registration number of the accused’s bike. The police personnel on night patrol at Koyambedu flyover intercepted the vehicle and secured the duo.
