3 held for damaging bus

The accused, Arunachalam (22) of Peravallur and Santhosh (21) of Perambur, were remanded in judicial custody, while the 17-year-old boy was sent to an observation home. The trio, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, vandalised a tea shop in Retteri with machetes and fled the spot. On the way, they damaged an CMBT-bound MTC bus in Rajamangalam.
