Denied entry into apartment, man opens fire in air
Mangadu police have launched a hunt for a man from Thiruvananthapuram, who opened fire in the air on Wednesday night after not being allowed to enter an apartment to meet his sister and fled the spot.

The man was identified as Deepak (31), who is said to be under medication for depression for about 10 years. Deepak, who came to Chennai with a few of his friends wanted to meet her sister Sunitha, a techie who is married and settled in Chennai, and resides in an apartment in Iyyapanthangal with her husband Suryakanth.
On Wednesday night, when he reached the apartment at Sairam Nagar, his sister reportedly asked the security guards not to allow Deepak in, fearing that he would create nuisance. Infuriated over this, Deepak argued with the security guards and in the melee, he suddenly took out a gun from the car and opened fire in the air before fleeing the spot.
When Mangadu police arrived on the scene and conducted inquiries, Sunitha reportedly told them that shehad an ongoing dispute with Deepak for the last few years. She added that he had an air gun.
Mangadu police haveregistered a case and a team of police personnel has left for Thiruvananthapuram to nab Deepak.
