History-sheeter held for robbery
The Pallavaram police have arrested a 52-year-old man for robbing a pedestrian. The accused, K ‘Jilla’ Venkatesan, is a history-sheeter in Pallavaram police station limits and has several assault cases against him, said the police.

The accused intercepted R Subramanian (60) near Tirusulam subway around 10 am on Wednesday and demanded money from him. As he refused, Venkatesan allegedly attacked him and escaped with Rs 200. Based on his complaint, the Pallavaram police registered a case and nabbed the suspect within hours. He was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
