NIA gets custody of 16 IS suspects
The special court for bomb blast cases in Poonamallee on Friday granted permission for NIA to take 16 IS suspects into their custody for eight days.

Two of the suspects — Hassan Ali Younus Maricar (28) and Harish Mohamed (32) — were recently arrested from Nagapattinam and 14 others were arrested in New Delhi after being deported from UAE. Magistrate Senthoorpandian issued ordered in this regard on Friday evening and said they should be produced before the court on July 26 after inquiry.
The 14 men arrested on Mondaywere identified as Mohamed Sheik Moideen of Madurai, Mohamed Azaruddin of Tiruvarur, Rafiq Ahamed of Chennai, Mohamed Aksar of Theni, Moideen Shahul Hamid from Ramanathapuram, Mohamed Ibrahim from Nagapattinam, Meeran Khani from Theni, Ghulam Nabi Azad from Perambalur, Rafiq Ahamed from Ramanad, Munthafsir of Ramanathapuram, Omar Farooq of Tanjavur, Farooq from Virudha Nagar, Faizal Sherif of Ramanathapuram and Mohamed Ibrahim from Tirunelveli. “They raised funds in UAE to spread IS ideology in India,” NIA said.
