Woman kills hubby with help of lover’s wife

The arrested were identified as Gayatri (26), wife of deceased Nagaraj and her friend Banu (29), wife of Mahendran, who works in the Koyambedu market. The police said that Gayatri decided to kill her husband after he came to know that she was in a relationship with Mahendran. The deceased had also threatened to kill Mahendran.

According to the police, Gayatri and Nagaraj were living separately after he found that Gayatri was in a relationship with Mahendran. A week ago, she reconciled with Nagaraj and came to their house in Sakthi Nagar. The couple has three children.

Gayatri reportedly told the police that she was scared that Nagaraj would murder Mahendran. “He kept repeating that Mahendran betrayed him. He also said that he would eliminate Mahendran,” she told the police.

Gayatri had told about this to Banu couple of days ago. Following this, both of them conspired to kill Nagaraj. On Saturday night, Gayatri had called Banu home when Nagaraj was asleep. They had used a pillow to smother him and also strangulated him using a shawl, the police noted.

Gayatri went to work and Banu went to her house after the murder. Gayatri later told her brother that Nagaraj was blabbering about committing suicide and asked him check Nagaraj’s condition. Her bother found Nagaraj dead and informed the police.

The police during investigation found that the two women killed him and arrested them. They are also on the lookout for Mahendran, who is absconding.
