Sources identified police officers as SI Ramakrishnan, constable Karthikeyan and home guard Nagaraj, who drove the station patrol vehicle. Nagaraj allegedly related the happenings at Ayanavaram police station to the Intelligence Section (IS) officer, and senior officers came to know about it.

Following this, the sub-inspector and constable snatched Nagaraj’s phone and checked the messages he sent to the IS officer. It is said that the duo took Nagaraj to the inspector’s cabin and allegedly attacked him apart from verbally abusing him when the inspector was not present in the station.

When senior officers learnt of the incident, the SI and the constable were moved vacancy reserve on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the level-2 intelligence officer has also been moved to the law and order section.
