All MBBS/BDS seats under govt quota filled
All seats under government quota were filled during the second phase of MBBS/BDS counselling, announced the selection committee under the Directorate of Medical Education.

A total of 3,947 MBBS and 985 BDS seats offered this year was filled at the end of second phase of MBBS counselling that ended on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the selection committee has also announced a penalty for those students who have been allotted seats in the Tamil Nadu government hospitals and government seats in self-financing colleges if they discontinue from the MBBS/BDS course.
All the candidates who have been allotted MBBS seats under government quota and management quota in Tamil Nadu government medical colleges; government seats in self- financing medical colleges affiliated to the Dr MGR Medical University; Rajah Muthiah Medical College affiliated to Annamalai University; ESIC Medical College and PGIMSR will have to pay a discontinuation fee of Rs one lakh if they discontinue the course on Monday.
The discontinuation fee will be increased to Rs 10 lakh if they discontinue on August 6, 2019 or later as penalty for breaching the contract signed with the selection committee. The same penalty will apply for the students who discontinue BDS course and have been allotted seats in dental colleges under State and management quota.
The students who discontinue the course will have to submit a demand draft in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10” payable at Chennai.
