Man hacked to death in Kundrathur, suspects held
A 27-year-old man, who had come out on bail recently after being arrested over an assault case connected to a kabaddi match, was stabbed to death by a three-member gang in Kundrathur on Saturday night. Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the case.

The deceased, identified as V Arul of Pillayar Koil Street in Pazhanthandalam, was a private firm employee. The murder took place when he was returning home from a nearby grocery shop.
According to the police, a three-member gang which reached the spot in an autorickshaw intercepted Arul and hacked him several times even as the street was busy. The local public and passers-by tried to secure the attackers, but the trio managed to flee the spot in the autorickshaw. Arul sustained injuries on his shoulder and abdomen, and was rushed to the Chromepet Government Hospital. But the doctors there declared him brought dead. Based on a complaint by Arul’s father Viswanathan, Kundrathur police launched hunt for the suspects.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Arul and his friends, Bharath and Anand, recently came out of prison on bail after being arrested in connection with an assault in Tirumudivakkam when they had gone to watch a kabaddi match a few days ago. Police suspect that Dilli Babu, who had lodged a complaint against Arul, could have carried out the murder with his friends. The police have arrested M Nishanth (24), S Venkatraman (30), D Vijay (24) and A Sathishkumar (28) and launched hunt for the main accused,Dilli Babu.
