In his petition to the police, Madras high court lawyer MP Vairakannan said that action should be initiated against those responsible for Madhumitha taking the extreme step.
The lawyer said that he came to know of Madhumitha being bullied at the Bigg Boss house and her attempt to suicide through Kamal Hassan, the host of the show.
The lawyer said that all who abetted her suicide attempt were liable to be punished by law. The TV channel did not air the clips of Madhumitha taking the extreme step, but the event must have been recorded on one of the cameras installed inside the house.
According to the lawyer, the identity of the culprits can also be found from the footage. He added that the actor’s family and viewers of the show are equally pained by the latest incident.
“Madhumitha has been unjustly harassed by fellow contestants in the show. Not only are the perpetrators hiding in the house but are also protected,” he noted.
As on Wednesday Losliya, Kavin, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Cheran, Serin, Tharsan, Sandy, Mugen Rao and Abirami are the remaining contestants in the Bigg Boss house.
Channel files complaint
The legal team of the channel which airs Bigg Boss has submitted a petition against actor Madhumitha, one of the contestants who was evicted from the show as she flouted rules of the show.
While Star Vijay did not disclose what transpired before she appeared with a bandage on her hand for an interaction with Kamal Haasan, rumour mills worked overtime alleging that the actress attempted suicide by slitting her veins due to differences with other contestants.
In the petition, the legal team of the channel has claimed that the production house gave her Rs 11.50 lakh as a salary for 15 days and the actress allegedly agreed to receive the remaining later.
“However, Madhumitha contacted the show coordinator the next day demanding disbursal of the remaining sum, failing which she would commit suicide,” said the petition. The Guindy police have received the petition.
