Chennai girl wins gold in Japan for karate skills
Chennai teenager Mahitha Suresh recently made the city proud by winning two gold medals at 2019 Super Okinawa Karate Competition held at Okinawa in Japan.

The younster excelled in the competition by winning the categories of demo practice and fighting. Mahitha, who has been receiving karate training in the city for the past few years, received her first degree black belt in 2015 and the second degree black belt last year. She has also been receiving training in taekwondo and athletics. Mahitha had won gold and bronze medals at the World Karate Championships in Sri Lanka last year.
