The house at Tholkappian Street belongs to Immanuel Jayaseelan and his two brothers, who run a finance firm in the locality and live as a joint family. The incident happened in a gap of 2 hours from 9 am to 11 am when the entire family had gone to the nearby church for the Sunday mass prayers.
Immanuel Jayaseelan’s mother, who walked back home, first found the house locked from inside and alerted his sons. They rushed to the house and broke open the house. They discovered that the burglars gained entry through the backdoor and escaped with the jewels and cash.
On information, Sankar Nagar police rushed to the spot with fingerprint experts and collected evidences. Police suspect that those known to the family must have carried out the burglary as they have decided to strike the house in daytime knowing that the family won’t be present at the time.
