Trial plan: Anna Salai near LIC bldg to open for 2-way traffic
With completion of underground Metro Rail work, the stretch on Anna Salai from GP Road junction to Whites Road junction, is set be opened for two-way traffic again after seven years. On a trial basis, the two-way traffic will resume for two days — Wednesday and Thursday.

Anna Salai from GP Road junction to Whites Road junction will be opened for two-way traffic. So, vehicles coming from the Anna statue can no longer take detour via GP Road to reach Anna Salai near flyover but use the straight stretch via LIC and TVS
The existing one-way system on General Patters Road would be reversed and hereafter vehicles coming from Spencer Plaza cannot enter G P Road from Anna Salai. But vehicles will be allowed from Whites road to reach Anna salai via GP Road.
The two-way traffic will resume on Whites Road from the tower clock upto Anna flyover.
The one-way traffic on Smith Road from Whites Road towards Anna Salai will exist for now
Vehicles coming from Anna Statue to Binny Road can take right turn at Spencer’s signal
Vehicles coming from Bharathi Salai can reach Anna Salai via GP Road and Whites Road
Vehicles coming from West Cott Road (GRH) can reach Anna Salai via GP Road (or) Whites Road.
Vehicles coming from Binny Road can take right turn at Spencers Junction to go towards Anna flyover
Vehicles coming from Binny Road can take right turn at Spencer’s Junction and pass through Pattullas road to reach Whites Road (or) Bharathi Salai
Vehicle coming from Greams Road and Anna flyover can take a ‘U’ turn at Anna Salai-Whites Road junction
Vehicle coming from Anna Salai will not be allowed on Smith Road to reach whites Road
Vehicles which are coming from Condron Smith Road-Peters Road junction should not enter Thiru Vi Ka Road (Via Sathiyam Theater)
Vehicles going from Whites Road to Annasalai will take left turn towards Thiru-vi-ka road and reach Annasalai via Sathyam Theatre, Contron Smith road junction and Peters Road
