Wall paintings to add colourful look to MTC depots: Transport Secy
Transport Department Principal Secretary J Radhakrishnan on Friday said that colourful wall paintings would be done in all the MTC depots and workshops, considering its positive impact on the health of workers.

After kick-starting the painting work to be undertaken by students of the Image Creative Education Institution at the MTC depot in Royapettah, Radhakrishnan commended the students for volunteering for such beneficial social activities, and said that such paintings would be extended to other depots and workshops of the transport corporations as well.
An official release of the MTC said that the staff felt that seeing the paintings would help them burst stress and work happily. The secretary also reviewed the works underway in the depot and also inquired about the quality of the food provided to the workers. Further, he heard the grievances of the employees working there and promised to take immediate action.
The Patullos Road depot work was taken up after the positive feedback received from the workers in Tondiarpet depot where wall painting was done and 80 saplings were planted. “As a result, workers who work there have expressed reduction in the stress and they are happy to perform tasks,” it said.
