Gold, diamond stolen from bizman’s house
Intruders looted 120 sovereigns of gold and diamond jewels worth Rs 5 lakh from a businessman’s house near Nanganallur on Friday.

Ramesh (52) of SBI Colony, a granite businessman, had gone to Sabarimala when the incident took place. On Friday afternoon, his wife and two children went the beach after locking the house. When they returned around 9.30 pm, the front door was broken open and 120 sovereigns, diamond jewels, silver articles and Rs 1 lakh in cash were missing. The police went through the CCTV footage from the locality and found three men entering the house. A special team has been formed to nab the culprits.
In another incident in Lakshmi Nagar in Nanganallur, Srinivasan (65), a retired Central government employee, had gone to the USA along with his wife to meet their daughter. On Saturday, his neighbours noticed this his house door was broken. After information, his relatives visited the house and found that five sovereigns of gold and 1 kg silver articles missing from the house.
In the third incident in Sai Nagar in Tambaram, 10 sovereigns of gold jewels and Rs 30,000 in cash was stolen from the house of Natarajan (40), a private firm employee. Tambaram police have registered a case.
