Hours after attack by students, auto driver dies of heart attack
A 35-year-old autorickshaw driver died of a heart attack a few hours after he was attacked by three school students near Chengalpattu on Monday.

The police have detained three Class 12 students in this connection. The deceased was identified as Dilip Kumar of Anumanputheri village in Chengalpattu. When Dilip was riding his autorickshaw on Bharathiyar Road on Monday, three school students on a two-wheeler came close as if they were planning to hit his vehicle.
Dilip stopped the auto and shouted at him. The police said that the three students, who got down from the bike, attacked him and escaped from the spot. Dilip, who suffered minor injuries, went to the Chengalpattu town police station with a friend and logged a complaint. Later, he went to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for treatment.
He suffered a heart attack in the hospital and died. Following this, the Chengalpattu town police have registered a case and detained the school students for inquiry. Police said now we have registered a case under Section 174 (unnatural death) of the IPC and waiting for the post-mortem examination report. Further investigation is on.
