10kg parcel falls off bus, breaks bicycle rider’s spine
In a bizarre incident, a parcel from a private bus slipped and fell on a man riding a bicycle and broke his spine on Thursday.

The police said that workers were loading the parcel when it slipped and fell on Nagaraj (48) on Wall Tax Road.
The police have arrested three people in this connection with the incident and identified the victim as a resident of Korrukupet. He is a security guard at a private firm. The police noted that it is usual for private buses of travel agencies to take parcels and other consignments to different destinations.
“When a worker was trying to put the parcel atop the bus, it slipped from his hand and fell on Nagaraj. In the impact, Nagaraj fell from his bicycle and the parcel landed on his spine. The parcel weighed more than 10 kg and fell from a height of more than 12 feet.
He was rushed to Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital. Following the incident, the Elephant Gate police arrested Ravichandran (55), manager of the booking office of the private bus and two load men — Ranjith (34) and Nasser (28) of Kolathur.
