13 sovereigns burgled from retired magistrate’s house

Unidentified persons escaped with 13 sovereigns and Rs 50,000 from a retired magistrate’s house in Kolathur.

The Rajamangalam police have launched a hunt for the suspects. The victim, Indirani (72), a retired magistrate, her husband Kulandaisamy (76), a retired tahsildar, and their daughter, a software engineer, had gone to Tenkasi on September 22. When they returned home on Sunday morning, they found the door on the ground floor portion broken open and the valuables burgled. Based on a complaint, police registered an FIR and collected fingerprints from the spot for further investigation.
