Secretariat driver kills self in Tirumangalam
A 53-year-old man, who works as a driver at the State Secretariat, committed suicide on Monday night at Anna Nagar West.

The deceased, Sivakumar, was a resident of Tamil Nadu Housing Board apartment on Ambattur Estate Road. He had not gone for work on Monday. Sivakumar’s wife Selvarani grew suspicious as he did not step out of his room. When she broke open the door with the help of neighbours and found him hanging from the ceiling.
On information, Tirumangalam police registered a case and sent his body to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police said that he took the extreme decision as he was depressed over his medical condition. Further inquiry is on.
Similarly, a 22-year-old woman committed suicide allegedly dejected over her husband’s death two years ago. The deceased, Nesi of Padikuppam, was staying with her mother and three-year-old child. When she woke up on Tuesday morning, her mother found Nesi hanging. On information, Tirumangalam police retrieved her body and sent it for autopsy. A case has been registered and further inquiry is on.
