Civic body lists 58 L voters in 200 wards
As per the electoral list released by the Greater Chennai Corporation, there are around 58 lakh voters in the 200 wards of the civic body.

The electoral roll was released by R Lalitha, commissioner (in-charge) of Chennai Corporation, on Friday. “There are 57,97,652 voters in 200 wards of the Chennai Corporation. Of the 200 wards, 159th ward in Alandur zone has only 2,921 voters, which is the lowest in the city. Ward 137 in Kodambakkam zone has the highest number of voters. The ward has 54,801 voters,” a Chennai Corporation press release said.
The release added that the electoral list would be placed at Ripon Buildings, 15 zonal offices and 200 ward offices, where the voters could verify their details and check whether their names included in the list.
Meanwhile, the civic body has also identified a total of 5,714 polling booths for local body elections. Apart from enabling the voters to verify and make corrections through a smartphone application, the civic body has also decided to conduct special camps in November. The public can use the smartphone application till October 15.
Voters can also verify the voters list online through https://www.tnsec.tn.nic.in and voters, whose names are missing can use http://www.nvsp.in to apply for name inclusion.
