Mason found dead with cut injuries, cops probe wife’s role

The deceased, Murugan, a mason, was allegedly alone at his house when the incident happened as his wife had gone to a temple, said the police. The police were informed about the incident over a phone call. When they went to the spot, his wife Devi was present there. “During interrogation, she claimed that she had gone to a temple and found her husband dead when she returned,” the police noted. Not satisfied with her replies, the police inquired in the neighbourhood andfound that Devi was in a relationship with a lorry driver in the same locality and Murugan had asked her to stop meeting him. The police are now probing if Devi was involved in the murder.
