Bizman cheated of Rs 80L, 4 held

Zakir Ahmed Daman approached Dinesh (33) of Vepery, who runs a cosmetics business, saying that his friend who has Rs 1 crore in Rs 100 denomination wanted to change it to higher denomination and promised 2 per cent commission. On Tuesday, Dinesh went to a house with cash but three persons took Rs 80 lakh from him and escaped through the back door after going to another room on the pretext of counting them. As they didn’t return, Dinesh checked the house and lodged a police complaint. The police traced them to their hideout and arrested them. The men were remanded in judicial custody. The cash is yet to be recovered, said the police.
