RMC forecasts light rain in parts of Chennai over next five days
Despite the city not having received much rain in the past few days, various districts, including Kancheepuram, Tirunelveli, Salem, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi and Tiruvallur received at least 4 cm of rainfall.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), isolated parts of south Tamil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rain in the next 48 hours. RMC further stated that light to moderate rain is likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu and isolated parts of north Tamil Nadu. Thunderstorms with lightning is also expected.
Meanwhile, the city might receive light rain in some areas in the next five days. Weather condition is likely to remain cloudy with maximum and minimum temperatures around 33 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
RMC also issued a warning for the fishermen stating that wind speed reaching 110-120 kmph is prevailing over the east-central Arabian Sea. As the intensity is likely to increase, fishermen are warned to not venture into the sea over east-central, north-central and northeast coast of
Arabian Sea.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Nungambakkam was 32.3 degrees Celsius while Meenambakkam recorded 32.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures recorded were 25.9 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius at Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam
respectively.
