Paramedic killed over affair, hunt on for suspects
A 28-year-old paramedic was murdered with his throat slit in broad daylight near his office at Karapakkam off Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) on Tuesday morning. Preliminary inquiry revealed that he could have been murdered over continuing his affair with the former girlfriend who had married another man two months ago.

Three special teams, led by Adyar Deputy Commissioner Pakalavan, Assistant Commissioner Loganathan and Kannagi Nagar inspector Veerakumar, have been formed to track down the suspect.
Police said that the deceased, Murali of Perumbakkam, was in a relationship with his colleague. But they separated due to differences a few months ago. The girl married another person two months ago, but they started talking again since then.
After coming to know about it, the girl’s husband objected to them continuing the relationship. Police suspect that he decided to murder Murali, as they disregarded his warning.
Around 8.45 am, when Murali was standing outside a tea shop, the suspect reached the spot and slit Murali’s throat with a knife. Murali collapsed with blood oozing from his throat. Police said he died on the spot.
On information, Kannagi Nagar police retrieved his body and sent it to Government Royapettah Hospital for autopsy. When contacted, the police said that the suspect would benabbed overnight.
