Duo blackmails married woman with obscene photos, hunt on

The incident happened on October 18 when the 26-year-old victim, the second wife of a carpenter, was at her house with her husband’s child from his previous marriage. Her husband is said to have been out of town for work. It is said that the woman went to a temple festival in the locality where two men – Harish Kumar and Ramesh Kumar – offered her ‘prasad’.

She reportedly became unconscious after eating it, and woke up to find herself lying in her house naked and her three-sovereign chain missing. To her shock, she received her naked videos in her mobile from the duo a few days later. They allegedly started threatening to release the obscene videos in the public domain.

When she pleaded with them to return her chain, the duo allegedly asked her to come to different places and sexually abused her. The woman’s husband came to know about the incident and lodged a complaint at Virugambakkam police station.

The Virugambakkam police only registered a theft case initially. After the couple submitted a petition at the city police commissionerate, Vadapalani all-women police were directed to register a case against the duo. A case has been registered and a hunt has been launched for the absconding suspects.

Meanwhile, Ashok Nagar police have arrested a polytechnic student under Pocso Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl. The accused, Mukesh Sharma of Puducherry, was secured when he returned to the city with the girl. Police said that the girl went missing on November 5 and a case was registered based on her father’s complaint. Police said Mukesh took her the girl on the promise of marriage and sexually abused her. He was remanded in judicial custody.
