Drawing the Centre’s attention, Kanimozhi said, “Fathima Lathief was sent to IIT with a lot of promises. The girl has committed suicide under mysterious circumstances. Her parents say that before they went to the girl’s room, the whole place was cleaned up.

The rope she used to hang herself was also removed. In the cell phone she had named a few professors,” Kanimozhi said. Pointing out that an FIR had not yet been filed in the case, Kanimozhi said, “The girl has particularly named a professor.

No arrest has been made. Who are they trying to protect? she asked, questioning the lack of progress in the case. “If this continues, then the  institution cannot continue to function like this,”  she added.
