Teacher dies as car collides with bus
A 54-year-old man was killed after his car collided head-on with a government bus in Kancheepuram on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Selvaraj of Periya Kancheepuram, a Tamil teacher at Nattapettai government school. Selvaraj dropped his wife, who is also a teacher, at Chinna Kancheepuram municipality school and was returning when the accident took place. When he was on Kancheepuram-Walajabad Road around 8 am, his car collided with a government town bus.
Soon, he was rushed to the Kancheepuram Government Hospital. Four bus passengers also suffered minor injuries in the accident and were sent to the Kancheepuram GH. The police said that Selvaraj died without responding to treatment around 9.30 am. The Vishnu Kanchi police have registered a case and are inquiring.
Eatery worker killed in road accident
In another accident, a 30-year-old parotta master who was standing outside the shop was run over by a lorry near Sriperumbudur on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Arbansha from West Bengal, was working in a fast-food shop in Irungattukottai village in Sriperumbudur. Around 5 pm on Monday, Arbansha was preparing items required for cooking. A lorry that was heading towards Kancheepuram lost control and ran over Arbansha and he died on the spot, said the police. The public, who gathered there, trashed the lorry driver, but he managed to escape from the spot. The Sriperumbudur police have registered a case and are searching for the lorry driver.
