Jeweller run over by lorry, wife injured near Puzhal

The deceased, Vinoth of Sridevi Nagar in Avadi, was running a jewellery shop in the locality and was on his way to a relative’s house in Madhavaram with his wife, Asha, on his two-wheeler on Friday afternoon when the accident happened.

When they reached Retteri, a speeding truck rammed their vehicle from the rear and they were thrown off the two-wheeler. While the truck ran over Vinoth and killed him on the spot, Asha suffered a fracture on her leg. Shocked passers-by rushed her to a hospital. On information, the Madhavaram traffic investigation police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
