TS Anbu new Idol Wing IG

Anbu, who was serving as Joint Commissioner, Central Crime Branch, Chennai, was promoted and posted as IG, administration June this year. It may be recalled that the Madras HC appointed IG Pon Manickavel as Special Officer of Idol Wing CID for one year on the last day of his retirement. The State government ordered Pon Manickavel to hand over all details of cases to Additional Director General of Police Abhay Kumar Singh a couple of days ago, as his tenure ended on 30 November. Pon Manickavel had refused to hand over the documents, stating that he was appointed by the Court. However, on Monday, the Supreme Court upheld the government order and asked him to hand over all case files to the Additional Director General of Police, Idol Wing.
