At the event, Khan, managing partner of Orios Venture Partners, spoke about his new book, co-authored by Bob Miglani, while interacting with the CEO, CaratLane, Mithun Sacheti.

The book ‘Making Luck an Ally’ focuses on how an entrepreneur can increase his business and be successful rather than waiting for luck to favour him. Khan points out 7 factors in the book that help bring success to the entrepreneur.

As a first-generation, Khan spent most of his time dabbling in angel investments. The first chapter in his book deals with how one should be prepared and be curious and how it assists a lucky entrepreneur. To accentuate his opinions, he provided examples from his years in angel investments. “A year before I met Ola, I met a company called RedBus. I passed on RedBus, but that made me curious about the ground transportation space, which people do not define as an industry. It is probably the world’s largest industry, and I studied in-depth about it before investing,” he said, adding that he later went on to see the merit in Ola and invested in it.

After a short panel discussion, the event concluded with Khan answering questions put forth by the audience.
