Tanker collides with mini truck on GST Road, 3 hurt

A tanker collided with a mini truck near Chengalpattu on Thursday and threw the traffic on GST Road out of gear for two hours. Three people were injured in the incident.

A tanker collided with a mini truck near Chengalpattu on Thursday and threw the traffic on GST Road out of gear for two hours. Three people were injured in the incident.


It took two earth movers and two cranes two hours to rescue three people who were trapped in the vehicles after the collision.


According to the police, a mini truck was headed towards Chegalppattu and when it was on GST Road, a tanker rammed it from the back and on impact the tanker fell on its side. Onlookers informed the police and the ambulance immediately.


Both the drivers and the cleaner of the mini truck, who suffered severe injuries, were rushed to the Chengalpattu medical college and hospital. The police said all the three injured are under intensive care.


After the accident, that part of GST Road was converted into one way for two hours which lead to traffic snarls, said the police.
