The police said they were employed since 2016 as sales representatives of the rice mandi owned by Gopalakrishnan of Maduravoyal.
The sales representatives’ job was to get bulk orders from restaurants and shops and pay the collected money to the mandi.
However, for the last four years, all four of them swindled the collection in small quantities.
Since they delayed the payment for some bills, Gopalakrishnan lodged a complaint against them at the Maduravoyal police station. Inspector Ravindran conducted inquiries and arrested them. They were remanded in judicial custody.
