2 arrested for attack on boxing coach
The Royapettah police have arrested two people for attacking a boxing coach and his friend over previous enmity.

The accused, both aged 20, have been identified as N Vigneshis a resident of Rotary Nagar and P Harish of Gokulam Colony. They have been booked under four different sections of the Indian Penal Code and remanded injudicial custody.
The incident happened on Thursday night, when the victim, A Ravi, a 27-year-old boxing coach and resident of Mayandi Colony, was riding his two-wheeler with friend Ezhumalai near Lloyds Road junction. They were intercepted by a two own on a bike and later attacked.
Ravi, who injured his hand in the attack, was treated at Government Royapettah Hospital. Based on his complaint, the Royapettah police registered a case and secured the suspects. Investigation revealed that there was an ongoing enmity between the accused and the victim.
Senior citizen attacked in Royapettah
The Royapettah police also arrested 34-year-old K Manikandan, a resident of Ganapathy street for allegedly attacking his neighbour, a senior citizen, with a knife under the influence of alcohol.
