British Council to host int’l conference for journalists

Future News Worldwide 2020, a conference for the next generation of journalists including student bloggers, vloggers, photojournalists and reporters from across the globe, is a two-day event at Sky Central - the global headquarters of the Sky Group in Isleworth, London, in July.

The conference will offer an equally rich and packed programme for newsmakers and content creators.

The opportunity is also available for undergraduate and postgraduate students from any country between the ages 18-25 as of July 1. Applicants should be able to speak English at an advanced level and need to demonstrate their passion about following a career in journalism.

Last year, the conference received nearly 3,000 applications and saw some of the most experienced and respected international editors, broadcasters and reporters sharing their knowledge and insights with delegates from nearly 50 countries. Speakers included Jon Snow, Channel Four; Christina Lamb, Chief foreign correspondent, Sunday Times; Nick Tattersall, Head of Global News Desk, Reuters and Sreenivasan Jain, Managing Editor, New Delhi Television (NDTV).

With contributions from leading media organisations such as Reuters, Google News initiative, Facebook and UK Schools of Journalism, the conference will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the next generation of journalists to hone their skills and make global connections with top journalists around the world.
