3 accidents on Outer Ring Road leave 4 dead

Four people were killed in different road accidents on Outer Ring Road on Monday.

In the first incident, Kamala Kannan (37) of Tiruvallur and Saran Raj (27) of Tambaram died after their car rammed the median on Outer Ring Road near Avadi. Kamala Kannan, who works as a junior engineer at the Ennore thermal power plant, and his friend Saran Raj (27) of Tambaram were on their way to Minjur. Kamala Kannan lost control over the vehicle and rammed the central median. The car toppled, and the duo suffered severe injuries. They were rushed to a private hospital in Avadi where they were both declared dead on arrival.


In the second accident, Vinoth (20) of Tondaiarpet, a two-wheeler mechanic, died when he was on his way to his uncle’s house in Avadi along with his two friends, Karthik and Abishek, who were riding pillion on the same bike. When they reached Avadi, a private college bus rammed their bike from behind, killing Vinoth on the spot. The other two were rushed to the Avadi government hospital by passers-by and were shifted to Kilpauk Government Hospital for treatment. The bus driver, Jayapal, was arrested by the Poonamallee traffic investigation police. In another accident, Dinesh (25) of Tiruninravur died after his bike collided head on with another two-wheeler on Outer Ring Road. Dinesh was an employee of a private finance company, said Poonamallee traffic investigation police. Kannan (32) of Tirumullaivoyal, whose bike collided Dinesh’s vehicle, also suffered injuries and has been admitted at hospital.
