Students from the village were depending on a one-and-only 8.30 am bus service to travel to Acharapakkam, where schools and colleges are located. Similarly, there is a 5 pm bus service by which they return. The locals said for the past ten days the bus was arriving at the village only at 9.30 am and the students were reaching the school late, for which they get punishment at school.

On Tuesday morning when the bus arrived at 9.30 am, hundreds of students and villagers blocked the vehicle and staged a road roko. The villagers demanded that the bus be operated on time as the students have no other option. On information, Acharapakkam police arrived at the spot and held talks with villagers. The police assured that they will talk with the Transport department officials and ensure that the bus arrives on time hereafter.
