Ganja peddler snatches buyer’s mobile phone
The Aminjikarai police have launched a hunt for a ganja peddler after he snatched a mobile phone from his customer in return for ganja.

Karthik (20) of Kamaraj Nagar in Kilpauk, who works as a housekeeping staff at a hotel in Aminjikarai, allegedly bought ganja from a peddler under the flyover near Ampa Skywalk mall on Poonamallee High Road. Karthik reportedly told the peddler that he would pay later as he was a regular customer.
However, the peddler did not let him go and snatched his mobile phone worth Rs 15,000. Based on his complaint, the Aminjikarai police registered a case and are on the hunt for the ganja peddling gang.
Four sovereigns snatched from woman
An elderly woman was attacked and robbed of her four-sovereign chain by an unidentified bike-borne duo in Koyambedu on Tuesday night. The victim Nagarathinam (78) of Arumbakkam was walking back home from a nearby temple when two men on a bike stopped her near Koyambedu flyover.
As the pillion tried to snatch her chain, she resisted. But they attacked her and fled with the chain. Based on her complaint, the Koyambedu police registered a case and a hunt has been launched for theabsconding accused.
