Duo attacks residents after failed robbery attempt, 3 hurt
Three men, who tried to prevent a robbery, were stabbed by the suspected housebreakers in Tiruvallur on Tuesday night.

The incident happened at the house of Devendran (67), a resident of Balasubramaniam Nagar in Veppampattu in Tiruvallur. He is living with his son Suresh and daughter Kasturi.
The police said that two men attempted to break open the door of their house just after midnight on Tuesday.
Hearing the sound, Kasturi raised an alarm and Suresh and Devendran attempted to nab the burglars who had already entered the house.
Hearing the noise, their neighbour Sriram, too, rushed to the scene.
Sensing trouble, the two burglars attacked the men with a knife. Suresh was stabbed in the chest, while Devendran’s finger was fractured and Sriram lost three teeth in the incident.
After attacking the residents, the accused tried to escape on their two-wheeler.
But a few other residents chased them and caught one of them near the railway station.
The accused was identified as Devaraj (32) from Pulianthope was handed over to the Veppampattu police, who are looking for the other suspect.
